I'm blogged out. Sorry for the lack of content this week but I just can't be arsed to think long enough to write anything of value.

Living. I am living at a hostel for now and think I might just stay there. It's a nice hostel and consists of several houses so it only feels like I'm sharing a house with 10 people. Although it is strange when I focus on the fact that the people are constantly changing. And I don't know any of their names. And we all keep our food tied up in the grocery bags. Financially, because it's city centre, it's just as cheap to stay where I am as to rent a room in a flat and most people won't rent for less than 3 months. My intentions are only to stay in Chch until July.

I went to visit the ducks again today. Sherilyn's here so we wandered through the park and just happened to find ourselves by the river. There's something about these ducks. On the way out of the park we were asked to participate in a survey which repeatedly (in 56 different ways) asked what we liked best about the parks. "Ducks" was the answer every time.

No ducks today, only doors. I got temp work (for today & tomorrow only) at a doormaking manufacturer. It's a small business operated within a huge business supply/construction chain - it feels like working at Irving but being at the bottom instead of the top of the food chain. I'm just a phone answer-er and paper sorter again, but at least it's busy!

Anyway, my day started with an impromtu tour of a door manufacturing warehouse. Rather cool. Do you know what an open top or cavity is? I do and I'm not sure if I want to tell. Actually my day started off with a speed walk/jog. At 7:30 I thought oh I'll have to hurry so I can do my hair, eat breakfast, and be out the door at 7:45. That would give me plenty of time for the 30-35 min walk and be there early. Wait a minute, I don't start at 8:30 - I work at 8AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mild panic, major cursing, short of breath and sweaty, but I got there at 7:58 dammit. I'm just that good.

So you know what all this means... I get a paycheck (albeit measly) again next week! Life can go on without a cardboard box.

Another few hours watching the ducks. Did I say hours? There's a strong currant on parts of the river and its highly entertaining to watch them try not to get carried away.

Nope, no job yet. Though it's not like I've tried hard enough to get rejections. I'm just meeting with recruitment agencies and hoping to find something through them. Much easier than doing it myself. Not as much office work here as in Auckland though which means more waiting. I'm living at a hostel in the meantime - can't be bothered looking for a place to live until I know more about how work will pan out. All in all I'm just lazy right now. Touring around for 3 weeks is hard work!

I did join the library today though. It was all in the effort to get free internet but after I went through the whole process I found out it's the most expensive internet in the city. booooo... Ah well, I got a new book that I can read while I sit by the river and watch the ducks. I hope the ducks don't get jealous.

Christchurch is the garden city of NZ - beautiful botanic gardens are the centre point of the city. There's a river - the Avon - which runs through the city and is full of ducks. I love ducks. I hate seagulls. They're just flying rats. Ducks are so cool though. Very laidback. In efforts not to spend money until I secure some work I've been sitting in the park watching the ducks. Someone employ me please.

Not much to report on today... looking for work and a place to live. Sure had to snap back to reality quickly. Anyone out there want to support me in being a full-time traveller? By support I mean you pay for everything and I have all the fun. Any takers?
